New Notes are about to be put up thanks to a generous user. I hope to do this over Easter for pretty much every subject. Have a Safe & Happy Easter :) Means more than 40-50 summaries are now available :)
Really interesting experience, especially getting to know the judges on a personal level. All may look abit aged but geez they are sharp.
I will be applying for mid-tier and top-tier clerkships this year. Would definitely like to get a feel for the commercial world before I locked myself into a job (assuming I get one!).
Great to hear :) Supreme Court would be a fantastic experience - congratulations, just awesome.
Check out the 'Clerkships' page - I put an example cover letter there. It's not perfect but might help nonetheless. Will try and do the same with a CV at some point over the next week or so.
The reason I call you "Guru....Guru" and you totally are. Great Boss! Your article is amazing and there could not have been a better explanation than this. Where do get all this from. You talk like a Buddhist...with all the Budha wisdom, I do believe that all of us do possess this inner potential and buddhahood within but hearing it all from you....I am amazed. I like your idea of Beer Test....Thanks for all your valuable advise...wonder where you get the time though you are so bussy all the time. Great good cause....will definately get great good benefit...Thanks again.
haha thanks shefali - hardly a guru.
hope it helped none the less - just a difference perspective I guess for members of "All Things Law" :) At least, it's my personal view anyway.
Catch ya!
I applied for about 15 top & mid tier firms, I have had around 10 rejections, & have been waiting to see whether anything would come for the other 5.
Most firsm appeared to have about 780 applicants or more- so as your seasonal guide states, the statitistics aren't great from the outset.
I just received two first round interviews 1 top tier & 1 mid tier- which suprised me- since half my rejection emails were from mid-tier firms.
Any suggestions, aside from your excellent advice on the Seasonals page, about types of questions etc...
Also- TOA- How did you go about getting a clerkship at the Supreme Court?
It sounds great.
Cheers,
Brett.
PS JD Exams- We're in the middle of them now- so we can keep you posted soon.
