Welcome
  • Welcome to this Newly Launched Forum.
It's pretty basic at the moment but the idea is that the more people who participate and ask questions, the more that everyone can assist in order to generally provide a much greater learning experience.
It's free to Join, free to post content and my hope is [in addition to the notes I provide] that you will generally find this a really useful place to learn more information about the law and studying it. I am looking for some assistance in Moderating and Generally promoting this Forum so feel free to drop me an email.
    Cheers,
    T.

  • Hi Andy,

Glad to know it's helping :) Yeah i'll look into setting the Visual Toolbar by default - leave it with me.

You'll also see a page now when you login that has "Notes" - where all the notes are located.

Like the idea of a "Cases" category but I'm not sure whether it would be better placed under each Subject category ? i.e. just ask a question and someone will respond ?

  • Thanks for setting up the site Tim.
It is really useful to be able to get a different perspective on things, particularly as I am an external student who works full time and studies full time.
Will try and get some case information together after my summer exams. Thanks so much!
  • Hey Ambian,
No probs at all. Hopefully more people get involved as the year progresses and we it becomes a useful repository.
A few people are emailing me at the moment and I am sort of trying to redirect them back to this site so that others can help as well :)
Let me know if you've got any ideas and happy to oblige.
    Cheers
  • Great site! law notes very (very) appreciated,

    Cheers.
  • Hi Tim,
    great idea, good site,
just getting back into study externally so always good to find a community on line while residing in the 'non contact' abyss.
  • Hey Tex - welcome to the site :)
Check out the notes sections & feel free to post whatever!
    Cheers

    Thanx :)
  • Hey Missfoxy
    No problems at all.

    Hope it helps!
  • Hi Tim

I'm a middle aged law student finishing her degree (and a mum of two teenage kids).

I think it was probably a mistake for me to do a law degree. At my age I'm not super cut throat and competitive, though I wouldn't mind working somewhere like 'legal aid'. Unfortunatley I became sick during my course and recovered, but I only have a set of pass/credit grades as a result. But I wanted you to know that I think that you are extremely generous and industrious constructing this site. I was actually looking for notes on the "professional conduct course" in law, sometimes called "ethical conduct" but it looks like I'm out of luck. I think this site will be very impressive to any employer. I gather that you have not yet completed your studies? I hope good things come to you - you deserve it. - Helen
  • Hi Helen,
Thanks for the kind words. It's never a mistake :) You don't need to be in a law firm to enjoy law - become a barrister, go in house or work in legal aid - even Government as a legislator or doing negotiation on tenders and so forth. Plently of roles available. Even apply it outside of law industry entirely. Its the critical analysis and thinking i've enjoyed.
I think you should check out the Ethics notes in "Notes" tab above - they are Victorian focused but should help. I think they are what you are looking for.
Hope the site is useful :) Feel free to email if you need.
    Cheers,
    T.
P.S - Awesome you've done law. You deserve a medal with two teenage kids! Can't imagine how hard it is trying to manage that and read cases :P
  • I have nothing constructive to add, but I wanted to say thank you for making your notes available. I only wish I had discovered them earlier - would have made Commercial law a lot easier to understand.
  • Hi Tim,

Fantastic website, I wish I'd discovered it earlier. Its great of you to upload your notes as they are really handy for structure & simplicity (I always have too much detail in mine). I am doing the JD with 6 units to go & due to finish April 2011. Advanced Corps exam 5/7, & Ethics Exam 12/7, Trade Marks assignment due 16/7- but at least I got about 15 Seasonal applications in. Its not that many but I also work 3 days per week (I was full time up until Jan) & my wife is due with our first son on 20/9.
Hopefully we all spread the word and help contribute to ths site.

    Cheers,

    Brett.

P.S. Helen- Tims right. You should be very proud of yourself balancing all of those commitments, and you will find something that you enjoy. Besides, you will most likely ace ethics- you appear to have the perfect mindset.
  • Hello Tim

This site is awsome! well done! im in my second year and my notes are messy as! I am hoping to fix them up on the holidays and I will post them up :) would be cool to contribute and help out others.

I know how hard it can get! studying law and doing another 5million things at once.

I was wondering if you or maybe anyone else has any contracts 1 tutorial answers or past exam questions. I am stuck doing a supp exam :(:(

Your help would be kindly appreciated and very very helpful.
